DTG: User Generation- A New Wave In Gaming

User generated content has come a long way in gaming from the more primitive mod scene into whole triple-A games that are wholly dependent on the creativity of its fan base. Richard Birkett of Dedicated To Gamers admires the new genre in this feature.

News: Fallout: New Vegas Expansion 'Dead Money' Out Now

Details remain thin on the ground and we're yet to delve into the first piece of downloadable add-on content for Obsidian and Bethesda's Fallout: New Vegas, but DLC 'Dead Money' is out from today (21^st December 2010) exclusively on the Xbox 360.

Dead Money sees you team with three other wastelanders to find and recover the treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino, and will expand the universe with new locations, enemies, brand new characters and fresh choices that will guide your hero through the Mojave Desert. Pete Hines, VP or PR and Marketing at Bethesda Softworks, stated “We’re pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money. The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas.”

DTG Review- Tron Evolution (PS3)

"A prequel to the upcoming sci-fi extravaganza Tron: Legacy; the eye-popping, ear-ringing, 3D behemoth, Tron: Evolution is also a sequel to the 1982 film from Steven Lisberger, Tron. For all its self-aggrandisement and somewhat tacky exterior, Tron came at a time of paranoia and apprehension in wake of technological advances. Thus, the story of one Neville Flynn being encased in a virtual world after an unwanted digitisation was a new leap in sci-fi, away from space operas and alien invasion movies. VGA's 2010: DTG Round Up

Dedicated To Gamers round up this year's Spike TV VGA awards that saw Red Dead Redemption awarded the 'Game of the Year' gong while surprise announcements buffed out the show, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and SSX: Deadly Descents. Additional details and trailers also buffed out the night; Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, Batman Arkham City...

Busy Night At The VGA's; Uncharted 3, Elder Scrolls V, Forza 4

It's been a big weekend for videogame announcements in the run-up to Christmas, with Spike TV's Video Game Awards (or the VGA's) taking place last night. But it wasn't just the awards which had us all enticed to the sometimes immature and mediocre scene of events at the yearly show, which saw Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption pick up the gong for 'Best Game of the Year', in spite of the exceptional quality of rival games (most notably Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2) and Limbo awarded 'Best Independent Game', despite a 2 out of 5 rating from us at DTG.


There were plenty of surprises in store with brand new announcements for long-rumoured but as-yet loosely detailed titles, with a brand new Elder Scrolls revealed by Bethesda, entitled The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (see our full news story), more details on Uncharted 3, subtitled 'Drake's Deception' and coming to the PS3, exclusively again, on the 1st November 2011. The game will heavily feature water on Drake's new quest to find the “Atlantis of the Sands”.


Meanwhile, Forza Motorsport 4 was announced by Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios, alongside a packshot and a reveal trailer that was mostly live-action, but also documented a 'Fall 2011' release window, as well as including the Kinect support (for car-lovers everywhere), and, oddly enough, a 'Top Gear' logo on the end screen. Will we be seeing the Top Gear Test Track for the second time after GT5's inclusion?


Mass Effect was the next high profile target on the VGA agenda, from Bioware but of course now not exclusive for Microsoft platforms, with Mass Effect 2 making its way to Sony's PS3 early 2011. A Christmas 2011 release has been pencilled in for the third in Commander Shepard's sci-fi saga.


But there was still plenty more in store; Batman: Arkham City added to its villain roster with Hugo Strange, Prototype 2 was confirmed, and SSX: Deadly Descents received a full announcement and trailer that seems to  be taking the snowboarding franchise into much darker territory with a revamped look and feel. The description of the game justifies the video - “the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it”.


Finally, Resistance 3 was shown off once more with a trailer that was equal parts live-action and gameplay screens, with lead character Joseph Capelli lovingly glancing at his loved one's portrait, but then becoming enthralled in Chimera-scorching action, with the trailer cutting at the end before we get to see some Red Faction-like hammer action.

Richard Birkett reviews the latest in the Chronicles of Narnia series for Dedicated To Film with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.


The future of the Chronicles of Narnia series has swayed in doubt of continuation in recent years. It seems that audiences aren't as overwhelmed with anticipation by high-budget, CG-laden, kid's fantasy films as much as they used to have been. We've seen in recent years the likes of Phillip Pullman's The Golden Compass brought to screen, only losing its magic to poor box office takings that found the series in a state of quandary. The second Narnia film, Prince Caspian, received much of the same hard shoulder upon release in 2008 (although it still became the 10^th highest-grossing film of the same year)...
